Mr Bun Yin Winson Wong

Mr Winson Wong is a Consultant ENT Surgeon based at Hull University Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust. He sees both adult and paediatric patients across the spectrum of ENT conditions but has a special interest in the management of benign and cancerous conditions affecting the head the neck (excluding conditions affecting the thyroid gland).

Mr Wong completed his medical degree from the University of Leeds in 2007, going on to complete his foundation medical training before undertaking his higher surgical training in ENT in Yorkshire. As part of his ENT training, he was awarded a prestigious National Interface Fellowship in Head & Neck Surgical Oncology. He also completed observerships in leading cancer centres in London and Hong Kong.

Mr Wong is one of the few surgeons in the UK with experience of both Transoral Endoscopic Surgery (TOES) and Transoral Robotic Surgery (TORS) for the management of oropharyngeal cancer, he is also also the TORS lead at Hull University Teaching Hospital. He also co-authored the Oropharyngeal section in the 6th UK National Head & Neck Cancer Guideline (2024).

In addition, he is a keen educator and is the education Lead for the ENT department in HUTH. Within this role he has organised teaching courses for trainee doctors and regularly teaches on national and international surgical courses. Mr Wong is also active in research and has been awarded a grant for ongoing research in his field.
