Without Mr Shetty, I would have lost function of my left foot. He identified the issue quickly, offered easy to understand explanations, laid out clearly the advantages and risks of intervening, and helped me organically come to a decision. The surgery went incredibly smooth and I have recovered well. I am extremely glad I was in such good hands.

Superb. At all times I was listened to and all options were discussed and considered, with a fantastic outcome. My overall experience was exceptional.

I found Mr Shetty to be very professional and knowledgeable. His manner is open and friendly - not so friendly that I felt there was any sub-text which I thought important! His explanation of the cause of my pain and possible solutions was very clear. He explained all the possible advantages, disadvantages and implications of possible interventions. He was clear as to which intervention he thought best, but I felt no pressure to choose it - rather, he suggested I took time to deliberate. In short, he gave me confidence to choose the op he had suggested. Between consultations, some of which were by telephone at my request, he remembered, all the details of my case, including arguably irrelevant family details which made me feel I was a ‘person’ not a ‘case’. The aftercare I received was wonderful.

Mr Shetty came highly recommended which is why I was under his care. I’ve had to see him 2 occasions for sciatica. Both times he listened to my complaint and talked me through my options. I felt very at ease with him all the time

Dear Mr Shetty, I wish to thank you for your excellent operation on my self in Dec 2017. I had an excellent recovery with no complications.M y Symptoms improved dramatically. I can walk for four kilometres with no pain. I have not yet attempted to resume playing golf as I thought it sensible to wait 6 months before trying to swing a club. After the operations, I was given an appointment on 29 January, but I had already booked to go to Spain for that time to recover from the operation and be able to test my ability to walk for longer distances along the seashore boardwalk. I telephoned appointments to ask for a different date, but the earliest the would give at the time is 20 June 2018.however will not be in the country from 7th june to 7th July 2018. I have tried to get an appointment earlier than that, but I am unable to get one before September. I will be away from 22 sept until November. I feel so well that I do not feel the need for a follow-up appointment. however, if you wish to see me I am able to come to the outpatient department at a short notice. Thank you very much again.

Dear Mr Shetty, You performed an operation on me three weeks ago at the Wittington surgery. Since 2011 I've undergone three operations with you on my lower back and it occurred to me that I have never thanked you in writing, even though my surgeries have had such an extraordinarily positive impact on my life. every operation has been a success. the first was an emergency and I was very worried but I made a full recovery. likely due to choices you made during the surgery itself. the second two operations were less clear-cut and you were patient, helpful and unfailingly kind while helping me decide whether to go ahead offering second opinions via colleagues as well as your own advice. a few weeks ago you picked up something that hadnt been noticed during a visit to another a and e which could, untreated, have resulted in permanent delict. I have friends with back problems who have undergone treatments of varying quality and I wanted to let you know how incredibly lucky and grateful I feel that I had the good fortune to come to you. I owe you a full recovery form cauda equina syndrome, recovery from chronic pain and (this time) from an otherwise possibly permanent weakness in my leg. its very clear to me that the care I've had from you, both in consultations and in surgery had been exceptional. the fact that I've received such amazing care on the NHS is a tribute to the service, as well as to the Wittington but I really I think mostly of you. I can't thank you enough thank you so very much
