Are you Ute Trounce-Maher?
Ute Trounce-Mathar is an Integrative Therapist at Priory, having joined the team in late 2020. She is a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and is currently working towards accreditation. Ute completed her BA Hons in Psychology at the University of Southampton in 2004. She then pursued basic counselling training in 2006, followed by a yearlong Foundation Certificate in Transactional Analysis. In 2019, she achieved a Diploma in Person-Centred Counselling from the University of Plymouth and a post-qualifying Diploma in Eating Disorders from the Iron Mill Institute in Exeter.
Ute also has additional training in cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) and in working with sexual abuse and trauma, gained through her work with survivors in a charity setting. Her therapeutic approach provides a safe and supportive environment for clients to explore issues impacting their lives, whether rooted in past experiences or present challenges. Ute's practice is characterised by warmth and empathy, and she aims to attentively meet clients wherever they are in their process, avoiding assumptions and collaborating to find solutions. She shares her skills and knowledge of psychological theory and evidence-based practice to support this collaborative approach.
