Dr Photini Papacharalambous

Professional career

Dr Photini Papacharalambous is a Specialist in Prosthodontics at Vermilion's clinic in Edinburgh.

Throughout the first two years of her career, Dr Papacharalambous worked in private clinics and dental hospitals in Greece. She was also based at the Dental School of Athens as Clinical Assistant. Following her move to Scotland in 2019, Dr Papacharalambous balanced her postgraduate studies with clinical experience at the Edinburgh Dental Institute, undergoing extensive and advanced training in removable and fixed prosthodontics, both conventional and implant borne.

Throughout her career, she has gained experience in complex full-mouth rehabilitations, which allows her to restore her patients’ smile in terms of both aesthetics and function. Dr Papacharalambous is also a Senior Clinical Lecturer in Prosthodontics at the University of Edinburgh, where she is involved in teaching and training postgraduate students.

Academic career

Dr Papacharalambous qualified as a Dentist from the Dental School of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens in 2014. Her interest in Prosthodontics brought her to Scotland in 2016, where she completed a three-year full-time postgraduate course at the University of Edinburgh. During this time, Dr Papacharalambous also enhanced her clinical skills in all disciplines of restorative dentistry.

In 2019, she was awarded the Doctorate of Clinical Dentistry (DClinDent) in Prosthodontics with distinction, and was also awarded the Nairn Wilson medal for clinical and academic excellence.
