Mr Sturridge had previously replaced my left hip on the nhs 8 years ago so when the nhs refused to do my Right hip because of a high bmi ,(dispute the fact I was having to use morphine patches and a wheelchair to get around, ) I contacted Mr Sturridge’s secretary and made an appointment . I was seen and assessed and had my new hip within a few weeks. Mr Sturridge explained the risks and agreed to operate . I’m now 11 weeks post op , pain free and back to work, I am forever grateful to Mr Sturridge for his expert care and giving me my Independence back

I suffered the shocking experience of being on the NHS waiting list for month after agonising month – only to be told when I finally did get to see someone that the soonest my operation was likely to happen would be the middle of next year. I made the decision there and then (a no-brainer to be honest) that I would rather use my retirement savings to improve the life I have now, than to hang on to the cash for a life I might never live to enjoy. Fast forward four short weeks and I was at Clare Park having my left hip replaced. Mr Sturridge and I have previous – he replaced my right hip some 12 years ago – so there was only one call to make as far as I was concerned. As before, his approach was wonderfully refreshing. Straightforward and to the point - giving as much or as little information that you ask for over and above his initial explanation of the diagnosis, procedure, risks and aftercare. At my final check-in with him post-op he was very pleased with his work, which was good enough for me. On a serious note, this operation has given me my life back. I’m completely free of pain, I don’t limp any more and I’m already walking briskly and confidently into whatever the future may hold. Five stars. Highly recommended.

From first speaking to Mr Sturridges secretary regarding a hip replacement operation the whole process ran smoothly from the initial consultation where all my questions were answered to the post operation check which was reassuring

Consultations, operation and follow up appointments were all well explained in an uncomplicated way, with opportunity to ask any questions or voice concerns. All went very well with a surprisingly quick recovery to normal life. Mr Sturridge performs many of these operations and is very experienced in dealing with complications such as maneuvering my existing metal plate in order to replace my hip. I would highly recommend his guidance through what is undoubtedly a daunting process.

What was missing I found, was information on back-up services following discharge after major surgery. If you live alone you certainly need assistance for at least 2/3 days after discharge. Following hip replacement at age 90 I could not have coped without the kind help and assistance of my daughter.

Mr Sturridge gave me my life back. Literally. After a poor hip replacement operation and experience at Epsom 15 years ago I was reluctant to have to other hip done. I am 84, recently widowed and succumbed to needing a wheel chair. My children insisted I needed to have the hip replaced to regain some independence and stay in my home. My daughter’s friend recommended Seb and I went with it. Oh my goodness how glad I am that I did. The entire experience of pre op, op, post op has been amazing. 8 weeks after surgery I look at my position. I walk unaided, I stand straighter and taller than I have in years, I have NO pain. I no longer need the riser in my shoe as he corrected the life long issue of one leg being markedly shorter than the other. My scar is minimal and healed beautifully. The care and attention I received was second to none. This is an incredible surgeon with an equally incredible team. I cannot thank them enough.
