About Mr Narayana Prasad
Mr Narayana Prasad is an experienced Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon specialising in shoulder and elbow surgery with interests in arthroscopy, sports injury, shoulder and elbow replacement, trauma surgery and the management of fractures.
Following his medical degree, Mr Prasad completed a Masters in trauma and orthopaedics. He then became a clinical research fellow and developed a keen interest in shoulder and elbow replacement. Mr Prasad completed basic and higher surgical training in trauma and orthopaedics and was awarded a Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) in the UK.
Prior to becoming a consultant, Mr Prasad was awarded a six month fellowship in shoulder and elbow surgery - subsequently, he was selected for a six month international fellowship in upper extremity reconstruction and sports surgery in Canada.
Alongside his clinical work, Mr Prasad has continued his research interests throughout his career and has extensively presented papers both nationally and internationally. He has also completed many service evaluation projects as well as several publications over 20 years in peer-reviewed journals. He is passionate about work and is involved in teaching and training.

Mr. Prasaad is an excellent surgeon. He did a replacement reverse shoulder for me. I was in extreme pain and was finding it difficult to wash my hair, driving was painful, I was unable to reach for items etc. Sleeping was very disturbed as I'd slept on my side all my adult life and couldn't get used to sleeping on my back. It was painful to sleep on my side. After the operation, what a difference, can actually sleep on my shoulder pain free. Able to wash my hair by myself. Can drive pain free. Able to reach for items. Thank you so much for operating on me and improving my quality of life so much. Your surgical skills and bedside manners are outstanding.

Perfect balance of friendly yet professional; I always feel like he has my best interests at the forefront of his approach. He explains everything thoroughly & in such a way that non-medical people like myself understand our treatment & options. Flawless care. When my second operation had to be postponed, Mr Prasad chose to work on his day off to enable me to have my operation before he finished for annual leave so he could oversee both of my operations for continuity. Brilliant care before, during & after my surgery. My appointments always run to time.
