About Miss Homa Arshad
Ms Homa Arshad, Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon, currently works within the Barts Health NHS Trust and sees patients privately for HCA Healthcare at London Bridge Hospital. She is highly experienced in performing a wide range of orthopaedic surgery including knee and hip arthroscopy, complex replacement, revision, and orthopaedic trauma surgery
Ms Arshad graduated with her undergraduate medical degree from the University of Cambridge, before being offered a place on the highly prestigious Percivall Pott rotation scheme. She has travelled the world developing her skills in units within Brazil, New York and, California gaining invaluable experience along the way. During her training period, she was also awarded a fellowship in Denmark working alongside and learning from Professor Kjeld Sobelle – the pioneer of minimally invasive periacetabular osteotomies. In her current role of Consultant, she has also taken on additional responsibilities as Head of Trauma at Barts.
Ms Arshad is also a very engaged teacher, holding the position of Honorary Senior Clinical Lecturer and tutor for the Masters in International Orthopaedic Trauma Sciences at the Queen Mary University of London. She is also an active researcher with numerous publications in peer-reviewed journals and has contributed several book chapters.

I was a little nervous before my initial consultation. Dr Homa Arshad made me feel calm almost immediately with her compassionate and pleasant manner. I was referred to her with pain in my right hip. Miss Homa Arshad's professional skill was outstanding in carrying out 2 hip replacement operations at an interval of 3 months. Both operations were successful. From first to last, Miss Arshad explained every aspect with care and a natural, friendly but always professional manner. I could not have asked for a better experience of the preparation, the surgery and the aftercare.

Miss Arshad has a very friendly and relaxed manner which immediately puts you at ease, she talks with confidence and authority yet puts complicated things across in a way that a layman can understand.

I couldn’t be more grateful for the excellent care I have received in the hands of Dr Arshad. When I arrived to her office after a ski accident she immediately made be feel that I was in safe hands as she took time to explain my knee injury and the potential next steps for recovery. When I started physiotherapy and my mobility wasn’t improving she took matters into her own hands to find me a new physiotherapist that had the right skills and knee expertise. Thanks to her I have been able to heal without needing surgery. She is the example of a doctor with real ethics and integrity who prioritizes what’s best for the patient as opposed to recommending unnecessary interventions.
